Next Week in Floriduh

Every spring I go down to Florida with my husband's family for Passover and every year I am challenged with finding clothes to pack that won't make me "shvitz" in the horrible humid weather.

While packing I always make sure to pack a lot of dresses and skirts, since I find them to be most comfortable in that heat. During some online browsing, I came across some really cute and trendy looks that would A. keep me from a heatstroke and B. still be appropriate for q.t. with the in-laws.
Knee-length sleeveless dress in chiffon from H&M

Crochet Back Maxi Dress from Forever 21
How cute is this? Lace Dress in Blush from Nordstrom

Fire Knotted Open Back Lace Dress (I love these type of pockets on dresses!) from Nordstrom

Short Flared, Satin Dress From  H&M

Last week while in H&M, I tried on this dress and even though  the fabric is satin, I found it to be super light weight and really flattering on. I typically don't wear clothes that are this PINK, but I really loved the cut of this dress and thought I could make an exception, just this once.

Zebra Scarf Floppy Hat from Forever21 On Sale for $8!

I think both these looks would be adorable paired with a long, black maxi dress.
Bird Print Headband (OBSESSED) from Nordstrom

Busy like a Bee

Unfortunately, I haven't found a minute to do a blog post, with work and everything else going on in my life and not to mention my digital camera is on the fritz. I haven't be able to post any of my outfit and for some reasons now my iPhone is taking really horrible pictures. Soooo I have pulled together some similar pieces to show today's outfit. Hopefully I can get it together soon :).

Color Changes Everything Continued

Glamour Magazine: The 10 Flattering Colors You're Going to Want to Wear this Spring 2012

COLORED DENIM
I'm really liking colored denim for this spring season. It's so fun and a great way to change-up the boring skinny jean look. The great thing about this trend is you can find adorable, colored denim without spending as much as you normally would on jeans. If I had to predict, I don't think this trend will last very long, but it's a great way to brighten up your spring threads.

Some great colored denim collections:

BRIGHT LACE
While black lace is always in style, it's all about the white and colored lace this season.

Red Lace Dress from Urban Outfitters
Cobalt Lace Blazer from Forever 21
Coral Pink, Lace Pencil Skirt from H&M

Kelly Green Lace Top from Target
(Also Feature in my Hump Day Post)

COLORED NAILS
I'm loving colored nails right now! The brighter the color the better! The only thing you need to be careful of is what color you choose for your toenails, there is nothing uglier than a weird green or blue on your toes. I always try and stick to pinks/roses, corals, reds or neutral colors for my toenails.

If you're not into wearing such bright colored clothing, a subtle way of  showing some spring color is on your nails.

Color Changes Everything

This spring's fashion trends seem to be all about the COLORS and we're talking bright colors. This commercial from Target is really spot on, excuse the pun. I love everything about it! The music, the outfits, the colors, the home decor and of course the dancing and acrobatics! Take a look below:

Also, check out this article on Target in this week's Advertising Age, it's no wonder why American's love themselves some "Tarjay".

It's All about the Skinny Belt

My favorite part about living in Los Angeles is the weather. I love how it’s  slightly chilly in the morning and evenings and the right amount of heat during the day. It’s the perfect type of weather day for a dress and jacket, not many other places where you can pull this off in the middle of March.

I love a cute braided skinny belt, it can really pull together an outfit. I tend to wear a lot of black and dark colors, so it's the perfect way to add a hint of color to any outfit. As seen below :)

A Pop of Color

Day two of my blog and I am already over using the iPhone to take pictures of my outfits.  I decided to purchase a mini tripod to set an automatic timer on my digital camera, over using my iPhone.  Thanks to Amazon Prime I expect to receive it on Thursday and hopefully the pictures won’t be as awkward as they have been.
Isn't it cute? Hopefully it works well!

First day of spring and it’s frigid (not really, but you know how LA people get when it’s below 60 degrees).  Imagine my disappointment when I woke up this morning and realized it was too cold to wear any of my new spring clothes.  I’ll try again tomorrow since it appears that it will be getting warmer!!!!

Chilly Monday

I probably have over a  dozen unfinished blogs, but this is one I have been wanting to do for a while now. For months, I have followed a handful of fashion blogs and thought this was something I could do myself...so here goes.

While my profession has nothing to do with fashion (it's actually marketing + advertising), I  find myself overindulging in fashion blogs and online shopping.

Please keep in mind this blog will be a work in progress and I hope the more I blog the better it will get.  So please bare with me :).

Obviously, I haven't mastered the picture in the mirror photo,
but hopefully I'll get there in time.

I didn't do a very good job of making the bed, oops!

Let's try this in the guest room, it has better light.
